All Over The Board

All Over The Board

Show notes

This week we sit down with Lizzie Diener. Lizzie's adventures began early in life. After graduating from high school at the age of 17, she hiked the Appalachian Trail. Before she had turned 20, she had solo-hiked the 2,600-mile Pacific Crest Trail. At some point along her journey, Lizzie fell in love with birds. Her interest and desire to learn about them has, for the most part, directed her path.

And what a path it has been! She has participated in 17 projects and studies with various universities, research institutions, and scientific organizations that have taken her all over the world, from Australia to Alaska, and from Hawaii to Maine. She thrives on being in the field, working, learning and contributing.

What would she do in her free time? Why, explore beautiful rivers, of course! Lizzie canoed 1,000 miles on the Mackenzie River in the Northwest Territory of Canada. In addition, she kayaked for 76 days and 2,000 miles through the interior of the Yukon Territory and Alaska.

From hikes to field work to river adventures, Lizzie is living life to its fullest--and all over the board!

This is a conversation you do not want to miss!
