This week we sit down with Alan Shuptrine, a painter known for his Southern and Appalachian Mountains genre,.Alan Shuptrine has extended his reputation from a renowned framemaker and water gilder to a nationally acclaimed watercolorist. Following his successful two-year solo museum exhibition, Alan Shuptrine: Appalachian Watercolors of the Serpentine Chain, the artist is embarking on a new journey. Collaborating with Best-Selling author, avid hiker, and sought after storyteller, Jennifer Pharr Davis, Alan Shuptrine’s first coffee table book has launched this September 2019 titled I Come From A Place, The thematic book contains images of Shuptrine’s watercolors as well as Jennifer Pharr Davis’ prose.
